Frequently asked questions
Are these calculators free?
Yes. Every calculator runs in your browser, has no sign-up, and shows the formula it uses so you can check the result yourself.
Do the results include taxes?
Only where the page says so. The pay raise calculator shows take-home pay using the federal withholding engine; the savings, CD and dividend calculators show pre-tax growth and note that interest and dividends are taxable.
How accurate are they?
The formulas are the standard ones used by banks and lenders (compound interest, amortization) and are unit-tested. Your bank may round differently or compound on a different schedule; the compounding option lets you match it.
