Why the numbers hold up
Official sources, cited
Federal figures come from IRS Revenue Procedure 2025-32, Publication 15-T and the SSA wage base ($184,500 for 2026). State rates are taken from each state's 2026 schedule via the Tax Foundation's January 2026 dataset and linked on every page.
Tested against the IRS tables
The withholding engine reproduces the 2026 Publication 15-T percentage-method tables exactly; the automated test suite checks it, plus FICA caps and every state's schedule, before any page is published.
Formulas on the page
Every calculator explains the math it uses, shows a worked example produced by the same code, and links to how we calculate. No black boxes.
